Third Week Recap

By:

Sunday was a tough game for the Hounds not able to score with Justin Rios from the Vikings pitching a complete game. Steven Mogged was the first to get a hit in the fist inning but that inning along with the next two were very quick for the Hounds. Mogged, Collins, and Woods went 2 for 4 on the day; Gleaves and Phillips each had a single as well. While the Hounds out hit the Vikings 7-6 unfortunately the timing wasnt right to push the runs across. The Vikings were slow to gain their lead not scoring until the 4th inning and only scoring one each inning to reach a total of 5. Wednesday's game was another close one but the Hounds fell short of overcoming the 7 runs put up by the Crestwood Panthers. In the second inning the Panthers jumped to a quick lead putting up 6 and the Hounds slowly started to make their way back scoring one in the third, three in the fifth, and one in the 7th. Seven Hounds had hits on the day including a double from Toppel and a single from Collings with 2 RBI's. The Hounds finished off the week with a win against the Vikings from earlier this week. Bats on both sides were hot with the Hounds out hitting the Vikings 14-11. Mogged and Giuliano had 3 hits on the day leading the team. Gleaves and Phillips kept the energy going throught the end of the game both hitting homeruns in the 6th inning. Collins, Mogged and Toppel led the team in RBI's with 2 each helping the Hounds earn their 9-6 win. Luka earned the win with 5 innings pitched and 4 strikeouts.
