Second Week Recap

Last Friday's game started with the Hounds hitting hard and fast putting up 5 runs in the 2nd and 8 runs in the 3rd. The Hounds held the Panthers from scoring until the 7th inning but their 2 runs were no match the the 13 runs the Hounds put up earlier in the game. Dane Toppel led the team with 3 hits and 4 RBI's. David Giuliano and Kennedy Phillips both had a single and double and two RBI's each. Jake Anderson earned the win pitching 6 innings. A big push from the Southland Vikings came close to erasing a 6 run lead for the Hounds on Saturday but the Hounds managed to hold them off for a 6-4 win. The Hounds started scoring late in the 4th off a single from Dane Toppel followed by two runs in the 5th and 3 more in the 8th. Gleaves, Mogged, Bieterman, and Toppel had 2 hits on the day, and Mogged and Bieterman had two RBI's each. In another close game on Wednesday the Hounds were able to squeak out a 8-7 win against the Panthers. It was a back and fourth game starting with the Hounds scoring first but falling behind by one run in the fourth inning. A quick five runs in the fifth inning put the Hounds back on top. A few runs here and there for the Panthers put them back in the game, but it still wasn't enough to overcome the Hounds. David Giuliano and Ryan Reeder led the team with 3 hits each. Giuliano led the team in RBI's with four as well. Alex Luka earned the win with 5 innings pitched and 4 strikeouts and Bianucci earned the save.
